Heart Specialist background

Dr Chakrabarty is engaged with Cardiology practice in the UK for many years. With his multiple international qualifications and specialist experience from many countries around the world including south east Asia, central Europe, USA and number of major centres of excellence university teaching hospitals from north to south in the UK, he is an internationally recognised Cardiologist and Heart Specialist.

Dr Chakrabarty started his career with a science degree followed by his medical qualification and a post graduate doctorate medical qualification in India. Subsequently he moved to UK for further advancement of his career since late eighties.

Dr Chakrabarty joined the Cardiovascular Centre at Leeds University hospital Medical School with an academic scholarship and obtained a master’s degree in Cardiology and then immediately received another medical scholarship from the Committees of Vice Chancellors and Principals of the UK to become a Cardiology research fellow at the St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, Imperial Collage of science and Medicine in London. He further received a British Heart Foundation scholarship and continued his Cardiology specialisation and obtained a Ph.D degree in cardiology from Imperial college of Medicine in London.

Dr Chakrabarty further continued with advance specialisation and worked in many well known Medical teaching hospitals in the UK, including Universities of Oxford, UCL London, Royal Brompton National Heart Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospital. Dr Chakrabarty also went to USA, Germany and a world known university medical centre in Austria, central Europe, for advance medical specialisation. With the wide range of specialist training Dr Chakrabarty successfully completed his full general medical and all round Cardiology specialisation including an additional specialisation in Nuclear medicine and Nuclear cardiology and obtained double specialist qualification and accreditation of the general medical council (GMC) of the UK.

Since then Dr Chakrabarty has worked as a specialist Consultant Cardiologist with special expertise in coronary heart disease, Heart failure, invasive cardiac catheterisation, cardiac pacemakers and multimodality cardiac imaging including Echo, Cardiac CT and Nuclear SPECT and PET (positron emission tomography) for over 20 years in many highly academic university teaching hospitals in the UK, including Guys and St Thomas’ hospital London, Kings college hospital London, Homerton St Bartholomew’s hospital London, St George’s hospital London, Papworth Heart hospital Cambridge University, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary University hospital, and recently east Sussex hospitals with clinical examiner role at the King’s college University medical school London.

Throughout his career Dr Chakrabarty has written number of medico legal reports for various authorities including court, tribunals, insurers, employers, lawyers and regulators etc.

In addition, Dr Chakrabarty has extensive academic, scientific and research accomplishments and published number of scientific and clinical research papers and presented in numerous academic and scientific seminars, congresses and conferences worldwide. With his wide experience in academic, research, publication and clinical achievements he had been awarded with number of prestigious fellowship awards, in addition to double masters and double doctorate qualifications, including European Board Cardiologist specialist (EBSC), Fellow of European cardiac society (FESC) and also Fellow of American College of Cardiology (FACC) USA.

Dr Chakrabarty also passionately contributes his clinical and medical expertise to number of national and international medical charity organisations and hospitals for the good cause and benefit to humanity. There is a well established Charity centre runs in this Harley Street specialist consultancy centre, which is first of its kind in this prestigious site of London.
